Vibrator or Air Blaster (Air Cannon) Problems Form

You may request Technical Support by providing the following information and clicking the "Submit" button below. A Global Account Executive will respond during normal business hours (7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Central Standard Time).

Please keep in mind that most often, poor performance is due to factors other than product defects. Carefully examine the power system connections, mounting, and model size selected for the application. Careful attention should be given to the mounting. It is critical to optimum vibrator performance. The questions at the end of this form can help troubleshoot problems. Providing detailed information will allow us to more quickly answer your question or help resolve your difficulty.

Ball/Turbine Vibrators

  1. What is the vibrator doing? How is it running?
  2. What is the orientation of the vibrator and how is it mounted?
  3. What is the working air pressure at the vibrator?
  4. Is an inline filter, regulator, or lubricator being used?
  5. What is the inside diameter of the airline?
  6. Is the airline restricted or kinked?
  7. Is the muffler clogged?
  8. Is the vibrator exposed to high temperatures?

Vibrators with Pneumatic Motors

  1. What is the vibrator doing? How is it running?
  2. How is the vibrator mounted?
  3. What is the working air pressure at the vibrator?
  4. Is the airline restricted or kinked?
  5. What is the inside diameter of the inlet hose?
  6. Is an in-line filter, regulator or lubricator used? Is lubrication getting to the motor? How long does the motor operate? Is there time for the lubrication to reach the vibrator?
  7. Is the muffler on the air motor clogged?
  8. Is the vibrator exposed to high temperatures?
  9. Are the vanes in the air motor worn out?
  10. Are the bearings in the motor and/or vibrator worn out?

Vibrators with Hydraulic Motors

  1. What is the vibrator doing? How is it running?
  2. Is there any unusual noise?
  3. Is the vibrator exposed to high temperatures and is the motor or vibrator hot?
  4. At what GPM is the vibrator operating?
  5. At what pressure is the vibrator operating?
  6. What is the backpressure on the return line?
  7. What other equipment is operating on the same system as the vibrator?
  8. What is the inside diameter of the inlet and outlet hoses?
  9. What is the oil temperature?
  10. Is the motor shaft seal worn, leaking, or bowed out?
  11. Are the bearings in the motor and/or vibrator worn out?

Electric Vibrators

  1. What is the vibrator doing? How is it running?
  2. Is the vibrator hot?
  3. What is the ambient operating temperature at the vibrator? Is the vibrator exposed to high temperatures?
  4. What is the voltage at the vibrator?
  5. If the vibrator is 3-phase, what is the voltage at each leg? Are any fuses blown?
  6. What is the current at the vibrator?
  7. How is the vibrator mounted? What is the orientation of the vibrator? How long is the channel iron? Is a flat adapter plate being used?
  8. If an extension cord is used, what is its length and gauge?

Piston Vibrators

  1. What is the vibrator doing? How is it running?
  2. What is the orientation of the piston? If within 10 degrees of being horizontal, is a starting spring in place? Vibrators with 2" size and smaller pistons have starting springs.
  3. What is the working air pressure at the vibrator?
  4. What is the flow at the vibrator?
  5. Is an in-line filter, regulator or lubricator used? How far away is it from the vibrator? How many drops of oil per minute? Is the filter working properly? Is lubrication getting to the vibrator? How long does the vibrator operate? Is there time for the lubrication to reach the vibrator?
  6. How far is the control valve (2-way valve) from the vibrator?
  7. How much time delay is there when the vibrator is stopped and started? A 3-Way valve may be required if quick re-starts are desired.
  8. Is the vibrator exposed to high temperatures?
